Air Swimmer – swimming between you and me

Welcome, iPhone 5

A video which appears to show the pre-release web pages on the German Apple website for the upcoming iPhone 5 has been posted on YouTube.

The video, uploaded on the iPhone5Website channel, demonstrates how by clicking an invisible link (ooh, magical) below the iPhone 4 links, a page for the iPhone 5 is brought up. If this is a fake, then the various screen views showing the phone from various angles in black and white colourways are extremely well executed. The black version has a black rear case, while the white handset has a brushed aluminium rear casing.

Ubergizmo says that this video on YouTube is confirmed to be fake due to some “rather glaring errors”.

Anyway, nobody can deny that iPhone 5 is about to release. Predictions are either on 7 September or in October.

“Always with me” (from Spirited Away) by Youmi Kimura

“Always with me” is the closing song of Spirited Away.

According to Wikipedia, the song was written and performed by Youmi Kimura, a composer and lyre-player from Osaka. The lyrics were written by Kimura’s friend Wakako Kaku. The song was intended to be used for Rin the Chimney Painter, a different Miyazaki (by whom Spirited Away is directed and written) film which was never released. In the soundtrack of Spirited Away, Hayao Miyazaki explains how the song in fact inspired him to create Spirited Away.

Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し) is a 2001 Japanese animated fantasy-adventure film. When released, Spirited Away became the most successful film in Japanese history, grossing over $274 million worldwide, and receiving critical acclaim.

You may very familiar with this song. Here the score-sheet of Always with me is attached Read more »

Farewell, Google Dictionary

Tongfei Kou's Website / 寇同飞的个人网站Google Dictionary Offline

From yesterday afternoon, when you visit Google Dictionary, you will see the page like shown above. It’s telling you that Google Dictionary is offline. It guides you to use Google Search or Google Translate instead.

Google Dictionary had three functions, which are words’ definition, translation and pronunciation. Here are alternatives:

That are the only solutions so far. I am trying to use all the alternatives, but I have to say that I’m not used to and I don’t feel the alternatives are as functional as Google Dictionary. However, Google Dictionary is no longer available. Say farewell to it.

Test of DiCAPac WP711 – a Camera Waterproof Case

Tongfei Kou's Website / 寇同飞的个人网站

Recently, I couldn’t stop thinking to buy a waterproof case for my cameras for the summer trip to Rhodos. A camera that can be used for taking photos in the sea would be fantastic. Moreover, sands on beach can also be harmful for cameras. Therefore, after weeks investigation, I bought a Korean DiCAPac (Digital Camera Pack) WP711 digital camera waterproof house case for SONY T700 on Amazon.co.uk for £30.66.

My criteria of a camera waterproof equipment are:

  1. It should fit my camera, either compact (SONY T700) or DSLR (SONY A-550);
  2. Reasonable price: I cannot afford too much for it;
  3. Good quality: won’t be easily broken so I won’t want to pay for damaging my camera and in the meantime it should be able to go as deeper in the water as possible.

Apparently, there are several reasons that I preferred DiCAPac WP711 for my SONY T700 to other waterproof products:

  • Compare with professional camera waterproof house: less expensive and easy to bring with
  • Compare with other cheap ones: good quality, passed JIS IPX 8
  • Compare with DiCAPac WP-S5 (for SONY A-550): 5m deeper

DiCAPac has patented zipper and double roll velcro water proof system that makes 100% waterproof and dirt-proof, which is perfect for my Rhodos trip.

Following are some pictures took in Svømmeland in Nørresundby. Yong Yu tried to take the camera into 3-5 meters deeper in the water – nothing happens.

You can find different DiCAPac products that fit almost all kinds of cameras on the world as well as iPhone, iPad, MP3 players, etc.
